A simple how to apply your braid.

How to fit

hair braid 7.jpg

Application

1.    Thread the wire loop through the tube at the top of the hair braid and put to one side.

2.    Pick up the tail comb and section about a 1cm size amount of hair. Be sure that you have a clean section; you should  be able to see that your section is a clean square shape.

3.     Pick up the braid and put the sectioned hair through the wire loop. Next, while holding the metal tube (at the top of the hair braid) with one hand, pull the loop downwards with the other. The hair will be pulled through the tube along with the wire loop. Now put the wire loop to one side, while still holding the braid in place.

4.      Slide the braid up toward the scalp. Keep the thread on the outside to avoid visibility on the metal tube (This will give the illusion of the traditional hair wrap). Leave 1cm of hair at the root for wriggle room, otherwise it may cause               discomfort.

5.      Using the pliers, press down the metal tube at the top of the hair braid to secure onto the hair. Press down hard to make sure it is in securely.

It's as easy as that, your hair braid  is in!

See our video below for a full tutorial on how to install your braid.

Removal

Use pliers that have serrated grip, you wont get the grip needed with smooth nose pliers. Simply push the metal tube in the opposite direction that it was put in. This will open the metal tube slightly and the braid can gently be pulled out. Please take a look at our tool section for our special Berties braids pliers. Tips

A tip to help you pull the hair through the tube using your wire loop.

It is important to use enough hair when applying your hair braid to avoid discomfort. However some people have found it hard to pull a 1cm square of hair through the tube, so here's a tip -

  • Slide the braid half way down the hair just before pulling the wire loop through. Everyone's hair is more sparse in the middle of the hair or toward the ends, this will make it possible for you to pull that section of hair through the metal tube.
